How CrispLawns makes money
CrispLawns is free to read, and we keep it that way by using affiliate links. When you click certain links to a product and buy it, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
That commission is what pays for the time we put into testing gear, writing reviews, and keeping the site running. If you find something here useful and buy through one of our links, it genuinely helps — thank you.
The Amazon Associates Program
CrispLawns is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate, CrispLawns earns from qualifying purchases.
Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Product prices and availability on Amazon are accurate as of the date and time an item is purchased and are subject to change. Any price and availability information shown on Amazon at the time of purchase applies to that purchase.
Other programs
Beyond Amazon, we may take part in other affiliate and advertising programs from time to time, including retailers and manufacturers who sell the kind of equipment we cover. The same rules apply to all of them: the link may earn us a commission, and it never changes your price.
How this affects our reviews — it doesn't
This is the part that matters most to us. Our reviews are independent of every affiliate relationship we have. A commission never buys a better score, a softer verdict, or a spot on a "best of" list.
Concretely, that means:
- We call out flaws, failure points, and deal-breakers even on products we link to.
- We don't accept payment from manufacturers in exchange for a positive review.
- We don't invent test claims or quotes, and we don't inflate scores to move product.
- When a cheaper or non-affiliate option is the right answer, we say so.
If a product isn't good, being able to earn a commission on it doesn't change what we write. The whole point of the site falls apart if you can't trust the verdict.
